Two of DRI researchers have co-authored recently-published books:

DRI Scientific Director Dr. Camillo Ricordi has co-authored La Fine Del Diabete (The End of Diabetes), which offers a perspective on the international research model required to cure diabetes and other devastating diseases. Dr. Ricordi has donated all compensation from the book to the Fondazione Italiana Diabete, which has given support to DRI projects in the past. An English translation will follow in 2013. An article in the Italian version of Vanity Fair will be published next Wednesday. Dr. Ricordi will be presenting the book at a European Science Fair on October 27.

Dr. Peter Buchwald, director of drug discovery, has co-authored Retrometabolic Drug Design and Targeting, that provides researchers in drug discovery and design with complete guidance on developing safe, effective and targeted drug therapies.

TeenInk.com is a web resource written by teens. In a recent story featured in the health section titled, “Stem Cell Research,” the author included information on the DRI study conducted with collaborators in China on the use of MSCs to eliminate immunosuppression that was published in JAMA.
