Supporting the Diabetes Research Institute - I Do, and Why You Might Want to Support DRI, Too
I support the Diabetes Research Institute by contributing not only time but money to its success. I'm not the only one - some of you may have read about Crystal Bowersox (of American Idol fame) participating in our Walk with Walgreens last weekend - or you may recognize some of these famous faces here, who are all fellow DRI supporters.
What is DRI?
The Diabetes Research Institute (DRI) and the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation (DRIF) are local organizations with an international reputation as leading in the fight to cure diabetes in our lifetimes. From their website:
Diabetes Research Institute - The largest and most comprehensive diabetes research center dedicated to curing diabetes, the DRI is aggressively working to shrink the timeline toward the discovery of a biological cure for this disease. Our multidisciplinary teams of scientists, together with international collaborators, are bridging cell-based therapies with emerging technologies to restore insulin production in patients with diabetes.
Diabetes Research Institute Foundation: The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation is recognized as one of the world's most respected diabetes organizations. Our support of the DRI through private philanthropy ensures the jumpstarting of new ideas and the continuation of innovative research projects that remain cure-focused and will ultimately benefit those with diabetes.
Financial Management - The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation has consistently been recognized among the country's most efficient organizations and is committed to the highest standards of fiscal responsibility.
DRI Updates Will Be Posted Here
While diabetes research isn't directly on point regarding the theme of this blog -- Florida Real Estate Development and Investment -- it does involve a personal passion of mine, and I also think posts here regarding the DRI and its efforts not only promote and support DRI's worthy efforts but also demonstrate that those involved in development and investment issues care about the health of our community and the challenges faced by many among us.
We're all for a better tomorrow. DRI is one avenue that is helping us get there.
